Bodyguard End Seal
Recommended for use with the Bodyguard®
range of sidings, trim and mouldings.
Designed for the treatment of end cuts, notches and nail holes on Bodyguard®
treated timber, to protect and seal the wood. Using an end cut sealer during
product installation is an important requirement of the Bodyguard® 30 Year Limited
Warranty. Use of this product will also minimise moisture uptake into the wood substrate. Bodyguard® End Seal is tinted white.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Bodyguard® End Seal is an easy to use wood sealer, for use with Bodyguard® exterior siding, trim and moulding products. For the re-sealing of treated timber where cuts, notches, nail and drill holes have exposed fresh timber surfaces. Bodyguard® treated timber is for above ground use only.
- Stir or shake thoroughly before and occasionally during use.
- Do not thin the product.
- Tin. Apply uniformly by brush or roller, ensuring all freshly exposed timber is well covered.
Spray can. Hold the can 6-8” away from the surface to be sprayed. - Tin. We recommend 2 coats applied by brushing into the grain of the timber.
Allow several minutes for the first coat to penetrate before applying the second coat.
Spray can. We recommend 3 spray passes on each area. If cutting pieces in advance, we recommend
block stacking and spraying end sections together. This will minimize over spray and wastage. - Replace lid immediately after use.
- Can be painted over when thoroughly dry.
- After application Bodyguard® End Seal will seep into the wood and dry to a white/transparent colour.
COVERAGE: When applied as recommended above:
Tin. 1 quart should cover approximately 370 end sections of 1x8.
Spray can. At 3 spray passes, 1 can will cover approximately 90 end sections of 1x8.
CLEAN UP: Clean up as required using mineral spirits.
STORAGE & DISPOSAL: Store in a secure, well ventilated area, away from extreme temperatures
and possible ignition sources. Do not incinerate. Dispose of in trash, or offer for recycling if available.
CAUTION: Flammable. Do not use near flame or other sources of ignition.
Use only in well ventilated areas and avoid contact with eyes and prolonged
contact with skin. Wash hands after use.
